The Dallas Ewings – New Years Eve in Naples, FL
Charlene Tilton (Lucy Ewing of the Dallas TV series), spokesperson for the J. Timothy Hogan Foundation, Inc., in Naples FL, is very pleased that eleven members of her “Dallas family” have gathered together to support a charity that is near and dear to her heart.
The idea for the theme of the benefit sprang out of coverage of a “Dallas Reunion” last year at Southfork Ranch, but it is important to emphasize that this is a high-profile charitable benefit, not a “reunion event” although “Dallas” fans are most welcome to attend. This benefit will benchmark the new capital campaign for 2010. Its pricing will reflect its purpose and exceed typical charges for fan reunions.
J. Timothy Hogan Foundation has invited the cast of the Dallas TV Series to host this fundraiser at an exclusive New Year’s Eve celebration and have received commitments from eleven cast members: Larry Hagman (JR Ewing), Charlene Tilton (Lucy Ewing), Steve Kanaly (Ray Krebbs), Susan Howard (Donna Krebbs), Ken Kerchavel (Cliff Barnes), Sheree J. Wilson (April Stevens Ewing), Deborah Shelton (Mandy Winger & Miss USA 07), Audrey Landers (Afton Cooper), Joan Van Ark (Valene Ewing), Jack Scalia (Nicholas Pearson), Jared Martin (Dusty Farlow). They are waiting for more that have given very positive responses. The goal is for 14-16 cast members.
There is another exciting event within this event! Jared Martin, whose role was Dusty Farlow, has done very few personal appearances since Dallas, but has focused on his own non-profit organization, Big Picture Alliances, Inc. ( https://www.bigpicturealliance.org/
Jared works with inner city kids of Philadelphia teaching them film and production to give them an opportunity in that industry. Not only is Jared joining the event but he is bringing 3 students to cover this event as a teaching experience in the hopes of producing a documentary of this event. The two charities are working out details to share proceeds if this develops, to equally benefit both charities - this alone is a great story!
This promises to be a historic event in that never in the history of this show has this many Dallas cast members gathered together for a charity,
given many circumstances, it is very likely this may never happen again, and
we have two wonderful children’s charities involved.
